Development of Lesotho National Sanitation Strategy 2025 – World Bank

In partnership with KAGGA & Partners, Development Solutions was contracted to comprehensive, countrywide assessment of Lesotho’s sanitation landscape. This assignment was implemented under the Lesotho lowlands Water Development Project II (LLWDP II) and funded by the World Bank. The outcome of the assignment was  to inform and have Lesotho National Sanitation strategy developed and costed

The consultancy produced three core deliverables:

1. Assessment of the Existing Sanitation Situation
2. Development of Strategic Options and Recommendations
3. Costing of the National Sanitation Strategy
Research Assistants attending workshop and planning research collection methods
Data Collection process involved interviewing vulnerable groups like herdboys
Data collection process also involved visiting some schools sanitation facilities

Stakeholder Validation Workshop

Stakeholder workshop held at Mpilo Boutique to gather input on the Strategy and the costing of the Lesotho Sanitation strategy. Development Solution implemented this assignment in partnership with KAGGA& Partners that took the lead role to provide expertise on issues sanitation hardware.

Stakeholders were drawn from the Ministry of energy, Education, health  NGOs within the sanitation sector , international Organisations like: UNICEF, REDCROSS and government parastatals like WASCO Rural Water etc.
